Define the treasury question
A treasury review brings holdings, obligations and planning assumptions into one view. That gives finance teams a clearer basis for discussing how price changes could affect the business.
We begin with the reason for the review. Your team may need to assess a larger BTC balance, prepare a board discussion, understand upcoming cash requirements or review exposure alongside an existing treasury policy.
We agree the reporting currency, time horizon and decisions the analysis should support. This establishes a consistent basis for the scenarios and the final report.
Build the exposure picture
Relevant inputs may include BTC holdings, cash balances, anticipated receipts and payments, debt maturities and existing derivatives positions. Where relevant, we also consider collateral commitments and restrictions affecting access to assets.
We work from records your team supplies and document their dates and coverage. Amounts held, amounts committed and amounts available for operating needs are presented separately so the resulting picture reflects the business’s liquidity position.
Stress-test the assumptions
We compare agreed price scenarios and examine their effects on asset values and cash requirements. The analysis can also explore how changes in receipt timing or business costs interact with the BTC exposure.
For a mathematical illustration, 100 BTC valued at $75,000 represents $7.5 million. At $50,000, the same holding represents $5 million. That $2.5 million change becomes more useful when considered alongside the company’s payment schedule, available cash and collateral commitments. These assumed prices illustrate exposure and do not constitute a market forecast or transaction recommendation.
Where hypothetical hedging scenarios are included, we explain the assumed volume, price, timing and liquidity requirements. Each scenario is dated and linked to its underlying assumptions.
Turn the analysis into reporting
Agreed deliverables can include an exposure register, treasury stress tests, liquidity sensitivities and a concise board report. We can also document monitoring measures and questions for your team’s treasury policy review.
Your team receives a record of what was modelled, where exposure is concentrated and which assumptions deserve continued attention.
Questions about treasury risk analysis
Can you include existing hedging positions?
Yes. The analysis can incorporate positions described in the records you provide, including their volumes, maturities and relevant cash or collateral commitments. The scope depends on the information available and the questions being examined.
Can this support a board or risk committee discussion?
Yes. We can present the findings through scenario tables, labelled charts and an assumptions summary. The format is agreed around the audience and the decisions it needs to consider.
